Senate Bill 1170, by Sen. John Ford, R-Bartlesville, passed by a vote of 41-0 and heads to the House for consideration. This bill would discontinue end-of-instruction exams that high school students must pass before graduating. Currently, high school students must pass four of the seven EOI’s to graduate.
House Bill 3025 was passed that adjusts the alternative certification process in Oklahoma. This bill would remove the requirement that the candidates have at least a GPA of 2.5 or higher to obtain alternative certification.
Senate Bill 911 was passed which would give school boards the authority to create a policy where educators could make students do community service for punishment in some cases instead of expulsion or suspension.
