After much deliberation, consternation, and contacting legislators from both sides of the fence, public education supporters have prevailed. Legislators allowed the two joint resolutions to die, meaning that as of today, the standards have automatically gone into effect.
That said, some sources online are saying that they already went into effect on Thursday.
Either way, educators and their districts can now start the work of creating curriculum maps and lesson plans.
