The Tahlequah Daily Press caused quite a stir today both online and off when it incorrectly reported that the School District Empowerment Program bill, SB 1187, had passed the House last night. You can see the screenshot here:
The empowerment bill was approved by the Senate on March 10 and referred to the House Appropriations and Budget Committee on March 16.
Most likely, the Tahlequah paper actually referred to the House Joint Resolution 1070 and Senate Joint Resolution 75, which sought to approve the new Oklahoma Academic Standards. You can read about them here and here.
