Not only should we keep our eye on two upcoming, very important bills, but we also have to watch out for the crazies.
Apparently, great numbers of people exist who have time to go up to the capitol and protest for or against things that they know nothing about.
This is just our opinion, but we think if you’re going to go to the capitol to make demands, protest, and/or hold up signs — make sure you have talked to a few teachers, joined a few education groups, and educated yourself on the issue first.
That goes for those people who like to call up radio shows and spout opinions when they know nothing about the issue.
I won’t spend a whole lot of time on that. Before I discuss two bills that warrant your support, I want to share with you the experiences of Oklahoma teacher and English/language arts standards writing team member, Kelli Anglley.
