While we normally cover k-12 public education, we believe that higher education is just as important for ensuring our citizens are educated, capable of making wise decisions, and able to provide for their families. Apparently, our legislature doesn’t see the value in higher education.
State Regents Receive Funding for Oklahoma Colleges, Universities
The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education approved today $810 million in state appropriations for the state system of higher education for FY 2017, contingent on final approval by Gov. Mary Fallin. This represents a $153.4 million or 15.92 percent decrease from the FY 2016 appropriation.
