A little bird forwarded an email to us today. It is from Matt Luse, regional accreditation officer for the Oklahoma Department of Education, and was sent to several Oklahoma public school administrators.
I am very sorry to announce that State Aid visited with us about the upcoming cuts.
Earlier in the semester they sent out a best/worse case scenario and it appears that the worse case scenario will be more accurate. At this time they do not know when exactly or how much. The reason for the unknown is because there are several funds that provide money to the account and we do not know which accounts will be impacted or how much they will be short. We will let you know as soon as possible. The cuts will be in June. I am so sorry that you all are going through this very stressful situation. If you need assistance with ideas or need a second set of eyes, please do not hesitate to let me know. I have scheduled the ASR days very tightly, but I have some available Fridays and a few partial days. This is a good time for me to remind you to plan a few days of vacation. This kind of stress is not good for your health. Take some time for you and your family. I know that I continue to nag about this, but I promise that you can think more clearly about issues when you have cleared your mind and rested.
(The emphasis is ours.)
Then we saw the following tweets from Oklahoma superintendenst:
